ReadyCheck Privacy Policy

Last updated 23 September 2026

ReadyCheck ("the app") helps you track game releases and coordinate gaming sessions with friends. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we don't sell anything, and there are no ads.

What we collect

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or browsing history. There are no advertising or tracking SDKs in the app, and no third-party analytics service: the usage and error records described above are collected by us, stored in our own database, and used only to improve the app.

Connecting Steam is optional. If you do, you sign in on Valve's own page - we never see your Steam password and we never store Steam credentials. What comes back is your public SteamID, which we keep on your profile so the connection survives, and which we use to ask Valve's public Steam Web API which games on your public profile you have played. We follow those games for you and store their Steam app IDs, so that a game you later unfollow by hand is not silently followed again. We do not store your playtime, your friends list, or anything else from your Steam profile. The check repeats about once a day while Steam stays connected.

You can disconnect Steam at any time in Settings. Disconnecting removes your SteamID and the record of which games were followed from it; the games themselves stay followed until you unfollow them, because by then they are your follows rather than Steam's.

How it's used

Where it's stored

Data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database (running on AWS infrastructure) protected by row-level security, meaning the database itself enforces who can read what. Push notifications are delivered via Expo's push service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing, and we never have. Data is shared only with the service providers required to operate the app - Supabase for hosting and the database, Expo and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging for delivering push notifications, Apple, Discord or Google if you choose to sign in with them, and Valve if you choose to connect Steam - and with your squadmates and friends as described, under your control.

Connecting Steam sends you to Steam's own sign-in page, so Valve receives your IP address there exactly as it would if you visited Steam yourself. The daily library check afterwards is made by our server rather than by your device, so your IP address is not sent to Valve again.

Your controls

Reports are kept for safety. If you delete your account, reports other people filed about you are kept for 90 days, so abuse cannot be erased by leaving, and then deleted; reports you filed are deleted with your account.

Children

ReadyCheck is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child is using the app, contact us and we will remove the account.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page and note it in the app's changelog.
